1) In determining mounting
area for your retractable awnings, 6.5 inches of space is
required above doorways, windows and under overhangs. Mounting
height of your awning should be no higher than 10' and in most
cases just above doorways.
2.) After mounting area is
determined, measure 51/4” from bottom to account for bracket
height. Using a level, draw a line, this will be the
top-of-bracket line.(ill. B.) Place a
mark on the wall at the end points of the awning. Locate the
studs, drill a series of small holes to determine the edges
and finally mark the center. (ill. C) Place
bracket over the center of the stud making sure that the
bracket top is even with top-of-bracket line, Attach
brackets securely with lag bolts which extend at least 2
inches into stud centers.
3) With help, lift awning to the brackets on wall, slip
torsion (square) bar into brackets. Install the retaining
bolts in the brackets. Remove plastic restraint straps
from extension arms and attach hand crank.
Your awning is now installed and ready for use
